Resident Receives Full Scholarship For Culinary School

Bryan CookingBryan Smith, a DH resident, has been granted a full scholarship to attend the Community Culinary School of Northwestern CT.
The school, located in New Milford, granted Bryan the scholarship. Bryan had previously been accepted to attend the school and was working on the financial details when he received the good news about the scholarship.
Prior to coming to Good Samaritan Mission, Bryan installed duct work for air conditioning systems. However, while at DH, Bryan has had the opportunity to explore his love of cooking, much to the enjoyment of the other DH residents, who helped encourage him to follow his passion. Bryan worked with Frazier Termon, DH Case Manager, to pursue culinary training, and received his good news on April 24th.
Bryan chose to pursue a career change to the food industry, which he feels will give him a better opportunity to serve others. He looks forward to the opportunity to make others happy with his cooking. “If it makes you happy, that’s what brings me joy,” he says.
Bryan begins school on June 15th, so if you see him, wish him luck and say a prayer!
